Having only been a band for just under a year now, Lets Move Mountains from Birmingham, Alabama have steadily gained a strong local following. To our surprise, in the short time that they have been a performing band, they have already had the opportunity to share the stage with national touring acts like, The Acacia Strain, Volumes, Crown the Empire, and Veil of Maya. This is a huge milestone for any underground band, and it is rare to see a band that has taken off so quickly into to having these chances to share their music with a mainstream audience.
After listening to their song “Through Thick & Thin”, it is clear as to why they have gained this amount of support. It is produced on a very professional level, and cuts no corners, which is of huge importance. If you take your music seriously enough to make it sound professional, people will be much more willing to take you seriously. We strongly encourage you to check out the rest of their EP, “Unfamiliar”, which you can find on Youtube, Bandcamp, and Itunes. When asked about their influences they told me, “We are influenced by anything and everything. It’d be hard to pick our biggest.” However, it’s safe to say if you like what you’re hearing out of the main-stream post-hardcore scene, then you will like what Lets Move Mountains are doing!

Q&A About Alabama
R or D: When you’re not in the studio, playing shows, or music in general, what would you guys likely be doing as a band on a weekend?
LMM: “Well Alabama is not the most entertaining place, we practice a lot on weekends, and mostly just hang out.”
R or D: In your state, what’s your favorite venue(s) to play, and why?
LMM: “Zydeco we always sound amazing there and it’s just a great place to play. Our house shows are usually pretty awesome as well; the atmosphere and people are always amazing. It’s more like playing for family.”
