about
Arizona gets pretty hot during the summer, and some might say that heat is coming from Tuscon locals, As We Watch Them Fall. Since their formation in November 2012, the band has gone through many member changes. So many that to this day only one original member is left. But despite having troubles with their line up, they have always kept the same goal, to make it big. A lot of bands say that, but it is another thing entirely see a band actually doing it. However, being that they have shared the stage with bands like Letlive, The Faceless, Ice Nine Kills, The Color Morale, Slaves, Secrets, The Plot In You, and Upon This Dawning, it appears they are on a good track to making that happen. Currently they are in the running to be a part of this Summer’s All Stars Tour with bands like, Upon A Burning Body, Dance Gavin Dance, I Wrestled a Bear Once, Within the Ruins, and more. This would of course be a huge opportunity, and we’ll be rooting for them.
Just last month the band released their debut EP, “A Common Interest”, which you can check out on their Bandcamp, Itunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, and Google Play. Overall the EP has a good variety, it’s not like listening to the same breakdowns over and over again, which is something I’ve experienced with a lot of bands in the genre. When it comes to influences, the band highlights Letlive, A Day To Remember, and The Plot In You.
Q&A TIME
When you’re not in the studio, playing shows, or music in general, what would you guys likely be doing as a band on a weekend?
AWWTF: “We as a band try and spend as much time as we can outside the studio, practice and playing shows. This can be difficult sometimes with schedules of each others, schooling, work and family lives, but when we do get the opportunity, we kick back and socialize with friends at the hookah lounge and continually talk about our future dreams and goals with As We Watch Them Fall. We as a band would love to tour anywhere that we had the opportunity to go but we would love to hit the East Coast/Midwest area first and continue on from that point.”
In your state, what’s your favorite venue(s) to play, and why?
AWWTF: “Our favorite venue to play at is The Rock 136 N Park, Tucson AZ . We played our first show there, headlining show and our EP Release show . They support the local music scene like no other and we would not have had the opportunities without them.”
