Through a collaboration formed by five close friends that all grew up with the same type of tunes, high-energy pop-punk band, Slay It Forward began to turn heads in the fall of 2014. The musical paths of each of the band’s members seemed to cross at some point but enviably led to the forming of the pop-punk powerhouse. Remington Holcomb (bass) and Matthew Manfredi (lead guitar) began playing music together in 2012, jamming in houses on the outskirts of the Chico State campus and soon would come into contact with Matt Savage (rhythm guitar) local guitar instructor and former punk rocker. Brett Growell (drums) was introduced by the Savage Family and lent his punk percussive talents to the rhythm section. Weston Ruiz (vocals) from Redding, California heard about auditions from a certain online source and chemistry was instantaneous. With the Slay It Forward line up complete, there was nothing left to be said. In the process of releasing the first EP, Apologize for What, Slay It Forward continues to play venues all over Northern California and is looking forward to what lies ahead.
